Years 3-6 Swimming Carnival

Students in Years 3-6 will be going on an excursion to Wauchope Swimming Pool on Friday 31 January for our annual school swimming carnival. The excursion will involve the following water or swimming activities: swimming races (50 metre freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly, 100 metre freestyle, 200 metre Individual Medley and relays) and novelty events. These activities will take place in the 50m Olympic Pool and the wading pool. 

The cost of the excursion is $4.00 for pool entry or a fitness passport. No pool passes will be accepted on the day. 

This permission note and payment must be returned this year by 9 December 2019. This is due to the early carnival date being on Friday Week 1. The students return Wednesday 29 January. 

Any parent who wishes to watch their child will be required to pay a spectator fee of $1.60 directly to the pool. However, if you volunteer your time on the day and have given your details below you will not be required to pay the spectator fee. 

Students need to ensure they bring a hat and sunscreen with them. They may wear their house colours but please ensure all T-shirts have a short or long sleeve - no singlet tops for sun safety. The school will provide flotation devices to students who may require assistance in the water for novelty events. 

The students will depart from Wauchope Public School at 9.00am and return at 2.50pm. However, to ensure we get our swimming carnival finished on time, we will be running the Boys and Girls 100m Open Freestyle and Individual Medley events at 8:30am at Wauchope Swimming Pool. Only those students who would like to compete in these events should meet at Wauchope Pool at 8:30am Friday, January 31 2020. A separate note will be sent out for these events. As per normal recess and lunch are also required. No canteen orders, please.
